Community Care Network thanks Rutland County voters

To the Editor:

On behalf of Community Care Network and its two agencies, Rutland Mental Health Services (RMHS) and Rutland Community Programs (RCP), I’d like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks to the voters throughout Rutland County for your financial support during the recent March Town Meetings. Your approval of funding for our programs has a direct impact on strengthening the health and well-being of our regional community.

For RMHS, town funding provides critical support for a wide range of essential programs, including mental health services for children, adults, and families; substance use treatment and recovery services; developmental disabilities services; and 24/7 emergency mental health services, including mobile crisis services. Together, these programs serve more than 3,000 people in our area each year. In 2025, RMHS provided more than 183,000 services to Rutland County residents, totaling over 93,000 hours of care and support. Among those served were more than 1,200 individuals who received immediate crisis response through RMHS’ Emergency Services team, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For RCP, town appropriations also help to bolster our long-standing Senior & Volunteer Program, which provides diverse services and engagement opportunities to thousands of individuals across the lifespan in our region each year. Examples of the impact of this overarching program from 2025 include over 800 participants served by our RSVP Bone Builders program, and over 65,000 hours total of community service delivered by 500 volunteers. Our RSVP Operation Dolls Holiday and Crisis Bag initiative distributed over 9,000 items last year to children, adults and families, and we host monthly gatherings for dozens of veterans in our Veterans Connection Program.

Town Giving throughout Rutland County is directly tied to significant, positive community impact, and we are deeply grateful for your continued support. Thank you once again for your trust in our work and for approving support for Rutland Mental Health Services and Rutland Community Programs.
